A lovely country house in the heart of the Midlands on the edge of Melton Mowbray known as 'The Queen of the Shires'. Famed for its Stilton cheese and pork pies. Easy access to M1, A1, Leicester and Nottingham.
A beautiful country house overlooking a formal landscaped garden of 2 acres with sweeping lawns and outstanding views. You will be surrounded by elegance, comfort and friendly care. The house is within easy reach of Rutland Water and its outlying villages, ancient Stamford, Oakham and Uppingham. All rooms have the benefit of self-catering facilities ideal for the independent traveller/business person. These include a small kitchenette and eating area, complete with microwave, hot plate and fridge. A continental breakfast is provided in the room. For the convenience of guests, a selection of delicious ready prepared meals can be purchased for those who prefer to eat in their rooms making use of the kitchenette facilities. The Grange is licensed to serve beers, wines and spirits. Discounts are available for guests staying for three nights or more. Decorated to a high standard. French windows lead on to a south facing balcony overlooking the garden. This room is very popular. If required, please indicate in the comment box when booking and notification will be given if unavailable. Some rooms have outstanding views of the garden and open countryside. The four poster room opens out onto a balcony.

Quality accommodation, in a charming setting. The hotel operates a non- smoking policy in all bedrooms. Most of the rooms have been refurbished to include a kitchenette and cooking facilities, ideal for the independent traveller/businessperson favouring self-catering.
Travelling south from Melton Mowbray on the a606 Oakham Road, we are 1.5 miles from the town centre. On entering Burton Lazars village, go past the church on your left and take the next turning on your left into New Road. We are a 1/4 of a mile on the right hand side, with a large forecourt at the front of the house on which to park your car (the photograph on the website is of the rear of the house). There are rail links to Melton Mowbray from London St Pancras via Leicester or King's Cross via Peterborough.
